A Joyful 4th of July Wedding at The Barns at Redcoats

Summer Wedding Inspiration | Photos by Ayelle Photography
I was so pleased when the sun came out for Ashley & Joe’s 4th of July wedding – the date a nod to Ashley and her American roots. Their guests arrived from the church to a very sunny Barns, where we had a welcome drinks cart waiting – packed with delicious Brambles, refreshing Hugos, chilled beer and plenty of Prosecco.
The brilliant Temple Acoustic were set up under our Grain Store and provided the perfect acoustic soundtrack to the drinks reception.

Ashley & Joe soon arrived in style, cruising in the most beautiful blue Mustang from Drives of Yesteryear, after stopping en route with Ayelle Photography for some dreamy woodland shots.
Caroline at Phlox Designs dressed our Barns beautifully with soft summer pastels. Blooms hung from our beams and filled the tables in alternating bud vases and footed bowls. Matching taper candles completed the look... I absolutely loved the styling.
The couple opted for a long top table, but with guests seated on both sides – a slightly untraditional choice that worked perfectly. To keep the couple in clear view, we left the space in front of them empty and filled it instead with a meadow of repurposed church flowers.
I *loved* how this looked, and will definitely be recommending it to our couples who have a larger group that they’d like to sit at their top table with them.

Ashley’s brother did a fantastic job as MC for the day, and American Girl by Tom Petty played as they were announced into the Barn for the wedding breakfast.
Guests enjoyed our roasted lamb rump with dauphinoise potato, white onion soubise, fine bean, garlic, shallot & savoy cabbage fricassée. This was followed by our delicious lemon tart with raspberry accompaniments & a yoghurt sorbet.
We opted to cut the cake during the meal – it was such a scorcher of a day that we didn’t want to risk it melting! The gorgeous 3 tier beauty was from Sugar Blossom Cakes and was decorated with pressed flowers matching the colour scheme of the day and all of the tables perfectly. Ashley & Joe cut this together with Joe’s family’s sword and we served it later on with our evening buffet.

Being American, Ashley was always going to do the s’mores station SO well, and she didn’t disappoint. Surrounded by florals repurposed from the church, and next to our fire pit, we had a variety of biscuits, chocolates and of course marshmallows.. delicious! And of course, a pot of sparklers for guests to have fun with.. it was 4th July after all!
Smashville set up during our evening reception, and were fabulous, guests were dancing all night!
A wonderful day from start to finish.

Feedback...
"We both wanted to say a massive thank you to you and the whole team for all of your help in the lead up to and on the day of the wedding. We had the most FANTASTIC day, as did all of our guests, and we had amazing feedback from everyone. Getting married is a really scary process, and we are an incredibly indecisive couple, but you made the process so smooth, made us feel so relaxed, and we really really enjoyed working with you! Thank you so much again for all of your help, we just had the best day ever, and cannot thank you enough." - Ashley & Joe
